Konohagakure Before Konoha was found, shinobi were merely individual clans working as mercenaries for various daimyo. Of the countless ninja clans, the Uchiha clan and the Senju clan of the forest were the strongest at the time. After much bloodshed, the Senju clan offered a truce with the Uchiha. Despite their leader, Madara Uchiha's protests, the clan overruled him and he reluctantly agreed. Thus the Hidden Leaf Village was born. Soon, other countries began to adopt this system, leading to the birth of other villages, and peace was attained. However, when the leader of the Senju clan, Hashirama Senju, was chosen to be the leader of Konoha, Madara decided to challenge him for the sake of his clan. No Uchiha, however, would help him, for they despised him for trying to reignite the flames of war. Betrayed by everyone, Madara left the village so that he could challenge Hashirama by himself. During their legendary battle at the Valley of the End, Madara was defeated and presumed killed, and was thereafter lost to history. Hashirama's younger brother, who became the Second Hokage, formed the Konoha Police Force and gave it to the Uchiha clan as a way to prevent them from entering the governing of the village and to keep them in check (though he made it look like handing them a symbol of trust), in order to prevent another revolt like Madara's. Some Uchiha clan members, who figured out this gesture's ulterior motive, began to rebel like Madara did. However, it was too late; the Senju clan became superior in the entire village, and the Uchiha clan was discriminated and secluded, just as Madara predicted. Sunagakure Sunagakure has had a turbulent history. The village was home to many legendary puppeteers like Chiyo and her grandson Akasuna no Sasori. In fact, it likely was the birthplace of the first puppeteer in history, Monzaemon Chikamatsu. About 20 years before the start of the series, Sasori defected from the village. Years later, he would be behind the disappearance of the Third Kazekage, an event that was likely one of the leading causes of the Third Great Shinobi War. Although they are allies now, Sunagakure and Konohagakure no sato have been enemies in the past. They fought each other during the Second Great Shinobi War, during which Chiyo, the legendary puppeteer from Suna gained her hatred towards Tsunade, the legendary medical-nin from Konoha, and likely during the Third Great Shinobi War as well. After Sunagakure became allied with Konoha, the Daimyo of the Land of Wind cut back on Suna's budget and started handing out more and more missions to Konoha, instead of to Suna. The leadership of Sunagakure realised that their military power was in danger and started focussing on creating a smaller amount of powerful, high-quality shinobi, instead of a larger, lesser-quality ninja force. Eventually, this policy led the Fourth Kazekage to make his own son, the future Fifth Kazekage Gaara, into a jinchūriki. This made Gaara into the third person to have hosted the One-Tailed Shukaku in Sunagakure's history. Later, the Fourth Kazekage came under the influence of the Konoha missing-nin Orochimaru. Their cooperation led to a combined Suna-Oto invasion of Konoha. Just before the invasion, however, Orochimaru had already secretly betrayed Suna by assassinating and impersonating the Fourth Kazekage. After the invasion had failed, Suna discovered this betrayal and re-allied themselves with Konoha, joining forces in rebuilding their villages and shinobi forces. Kirigakure The Kaguya clan waged a war against Kirigakure sometime in the past, and were slaughtered by the village's superior forces. Zabuza Momochi also tried to assassinate the Mizukage. His attempt failed and from that point further Kirigakure began hunting him. Madara Uchiha was once a Mizukage of the village. The village also had Three-Tailed Beast in its possession, but it was removed from its host for some unknown reason and the beast began to roam free In order to become a genin in this desolate village you must kill another academy student, the 7 SS reside here Lake Blood, SS Base	0	0
Kumogakure At one time, Kumogakure was at war with Konohagakure no sato. However, on the day of Hinata Hyuga's third birthday, both villages signed a peace treaty. This treaty was soon revealed to be nothing more then a cover when the the Head Ninja of the time, who was in Konoha to sign the treaty, attempted to kidnap Hinata in order to obtain a Byakugan and its secrets. The Head Ninja was killed in his attempt by Hinata's father, Hiashi Hyuga. Kumogakure denied all accusations and demanded the dead body of Hiashi as compensation for the death of their Head Ninja. At request of Hiashi's twin Hizashi Hyuga, the Hyuga clan and the Third Hokage, not wanting to lose the heir to the clan, decided to send Hizashi's body instead. This had another advantage, besides saving the life of the Hyūga heir; Hizashi's Cursed Seal would seal his Byakugan after his death, safeguarding its secrets. Although they are not allies, Kumogakure and Konohagakure seem to be on friendly terms now. Kumogakure, like Iwagakure, is unique for having had two tailed beasts in its possession: Yugito Nii and Kirābī. Equally unique is the fact that the village is outraged when both Yugito and Kirābī are captured by Akatsuki, as most villages had shunned their jinchuriki. After Kirābī (the Raikage's brother) is captured, the village starts dedicating its time to dealing with Akatsuki and saving Kirābī. Yugito and Kirābī had a great deal of control over their tailed beasts, such that Kirābī was not allowed to fully transform into his beast. Cloud Temple	0	0
Iwagakure Iwagakure ( Iwagakure no Sato; Literally meaning "Village Hidden in the Rocks") is the hidden village of the Land of Earth. As one of the five great ninja villages, Iwagakure has a Kage as its leader known as the Tsuchikage. Its symbol is made of two rocks, with a smaller one in front of a larger one. The ninja from this village seem to specialize in Earth Release techniques. This village has not yet been seen in the series. Iwagakure is well-known for the rock-hard attitude of its shinobi. As soon as the Tsuchikage gives an order, the Iwa-nin do so without hesitating, even if it means death. The rocky mountain ranges that surround the village and country provide a natural stronghold. The village profits from this advantageous position and is proud of its strong defenses. The village at one time had the five and four-tailed beast in its possession. The village was a participant in the Third Great Shinobi War, invading Kusagakure no sato and fighting against Konohagakure no sato. The war went well for Iwagakure, almost reaching the border of the Land of Fire. However, despite their military power having hit an all-time low, Konohagakure managed to turn the tide of the war by destroying the Kannabi Bridge and so cutting off Iwagakure's line of supply.
